Walk-A-Thon 2012

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Today is the start of our biggest fundraiser of the year—the Linscott-Rumford Elementary School 2012 WALK-A-THON!

Last year, we were able to fundraise over $14,000 which we poured back into our children’s educations. The money raised, funded 18 enrichment programs covering various topics from an Amelia Earhart character actor, a dome planetarium to several hands-on science experiments, 7 field trips and buses, and many special events for all of our students. Plus, we were able to give $10 per student to the teachers for classroom supplies.

Students will be asked to track sponsorships made by family and friends for each lap they will do during at lunch recess on the attached Pledge Sheets. Sponsors can pledge a monetary donation per lap or a flat donation. All of our students will participate and have fun with this healthy event!!

The day of the event will be on Tues, October 2nd at the lunch recess (extended to 30 minutes).  The students will have assigned stations to start at, once they complete a lap a parent volunteer will give them a band to put on. After the 30 minutes, the volunteers will then record the number of laps completed by counting the bands. The Pledge sheet, donation receipts and money envelope will be sent home later in the week to the students to collect the money.

Please track your sponsors on the Pledge Sheet provided and return it to school with your child no later than Friday, September 28th. These Rewards and Incentives make fundraising fun for the students.

•All students who returns their Pledge sheets before Friday, Sept 28th will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Rip Stick and Helmet

•All students who bring in over $40 in Pledge money will receive a Cal’s Cart (school store) voucher
